The brief was to achieve serious acoustics without sacrificing a living room that could breathe and be lived in. High ceilings, a deep bay window, an original fireplace. The period features that give the house its character were the same ones making the acoustics a challenge.
Custom baffles, bespoke felt banners integrated into the party wall, and carefully considered drapery transformed the room, absorbing and distributing sound while reading as considered, textural design. The result is a living room that performs at a standard normally reserved for dedicated listening spaces.
Homes designed with this level of intention are part of a wellness real estate market now valued at US$875 billion globally, and growing.
